We teach people to play percussion instruments and create a Brazilian carnival samba band marching around the room in a frenzy of percussion and singing! The session starts with an instrument selection process where we get the whole group to clap a variety of rhythms.
Instruments are selected for the most appropriate people and we also choose the singers. We teach versions of Airto's 'Celebration Song' and the classic Mas Que Nada. Both are hugely popular songs and have been used for the football world cup theme and Nike adverts.
We separate the percussionists and singers and teach them separately, bringing them back together for a finale performance of the tunes, marching around the room in a carnival style. People are encouraged to let go and feel free to shout and whoop, releasing their spirits into the carnival atmosphere peaking in a final jump and shout at the end!
There is a real feeling of unity and of creating a whole greater than the sum of its parts. The emphasis is on enjoying the session and letting your creative energy flow in an upbeat atmosphere, with clients left feeling invigorated and vibrant.
